Day out 23rd August & Viking Gala 3rd September

Hi all
2 events comming up
1.
John Dolan is organising a day out -
Go-Carting followed by drinks on Saturday August 23rd
Please contact John asap for futher details and so he can organise numbers also.
2.
Last but not least
Karl is organising a Gala on the 3rd of September at 9pm
C'mon everybody - as he says in his own words
'Bit of a laugh, nothing too strenuous!!'
And he is looking for some support and a good turnout

August Bank Holiday W/end Cancelled

We are sorry to nitify you all that the August Bank Holiday weekend in Dunmore East has been cancelled.
We are trying to organise an alternative location, Possibly St Johns Point.

SHIPWRECKS OF DUBLIN BAY & DIVE ON MV BOLIVAR

A TALK AND SLIDE SHOW & DIVE WITH CORMAC LOWTH
Saturday 5th July 08
DMYC, 10.30am (for talk)
Cormac Lowth, Maritime historian, author & regular contributor to Subsea
Has offered to present a talk/slide show in aid of RNLI on
Shipwrecks of Dublin Bay
With dive afterwards on MV Bolivar (weather permitting)
Talk – 10am (sharp) DMYC, West Pier, Dun Laoghaire
Cost - €5 for talk + petrol contribution for Dive
All welcome to talk - just come along
Anyone wishing to dive must let us know by 2nd July in order to arrange boat cover
And be club diver & above

Possible Treasure Hunt

Hi all,
Just a quick note to see what the interest would be in organizing a Treasure hunt in the forthcomming weeks.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please forward them onto one of the committee members, Also any help would be appreciated in the organizing of same.
I would also like to take this oppurtunity in thanking all participants and helpers on behaly of the committee in relation to the race night last month.
Sorry I was not there myself as I had other commitments.

Notice from the NDO

Note for all divers
The start of the main diving season is drawing near. Easter will see an opportunity for our Trainees to take their first dive and for the rest of us, a chance to acclimatise ourselves for the season ahead.
With this in mind I would ask every diver to be even more safety conscious than ever. The Galway chamber is not operational and we have just been informed that Craigavon Chamber is being closed from the 24th March to the 28th for maintenance.
Please be extra vigilant around dives especially regarding buoyancy, dive times and sea conditions.!
In the event of a Diving Emergency please contact the Coast Guard who will liaise with the appropriate chamber at that time.
Wishing you all safe, enjoyable diving and a Happy Easter.
