CFT are CMAS affiliated (Confederation Mondiale des Activites Subaquatiques). The club has been in existence since 1976. Viking SAC dive regularly around the Dublin Bay area and make weekend trips to other dive sites around the coast of Ireland throughout the year (Kinsale, Kilkee, Baltimore, Johns Point, Rathlin Island and Innisboffin to name but a few) as well as trips abroad. The club meets each Wednesday night at Coolmine swimming pool from 9pm to 10pm to swim and work on some basic snorkle techniques which gives members the opportunity to improve their fitness. This is usually followed by a nice 'chat' in the pub down the road. Viking SAC welcomes new members. The club holds 'try a dive' nights which give non-divers the opportunity to give SCUBA a go in the pool under the supervision of a qualified instructor. Qualified divers, including those qualified under non-CMAS affiliations, are also welcome to join.
